Karannagoda to sue Fonseka over comments on TV interview


  

Former Navy Chief, Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda has sent a letter of demand to presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka for Rs. 500 million over comments he made to a private television station. Admiral Karannagoda has threatened legal action if the money is not paid.

In the letter of demand sent to Fonseka, Admiral Karannagoda claims that a remark made by General Fonseka in the interview regarding Admiral Karannagoda was malicious and tarnished his good name, reputation and public image, thereby causing him irreparable loss and damage.

The letter says if the sum of Rs. 500 million is not paid within 14 days legal action will be instituted against General Fonseka to recover the money.
